The Folly Roof.
Set within a unique and characterful setting, this radial roof presented an opportunity to deliver something a little different.
Although modest in scale, the project demanded a high level of precision and care. The geometry of the roof required careful setting-out from the outset, ensuring that every course of slate would sit naturally and consistently as the roof formed. It’s the kind of work where small inaccuracies quickly show, so patience and attention to detail are everything.
Using natural slate, the aim was to create a finish that felt both refined and in keeping with its surroundings. Each element was considered to ensure the roof didn’t just perform well, but looked right, balanced, clean and true to traditional methods.
Projects like this highlight the quieter side of roofing. Not everything is about size or scale; sometimes it’s about taking the time to execute something properly, respecting the craft and the structure it belongs to.
The result is a roof that sits comfortably within its environment, built to last and finished with the level of care that traditional detailing deserves.
